Church Mother Ministry Online Bible Study for Women

The recognition of Church Mother is a strong tradition that has been honored since the beginning of the New Testament church. The Apostle Paul exhorted Titus (2:3-5 KJV) and expounded as doctrine [that] “The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discrete, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.”

The heart and spirit of the Church Mother have been modeled in notable women throughout Bible history. Consider Pharaoh’s daughter who rescued Moses from a watery grave, adopted him and cared for him as her own. Moses’ birthmother demonstrated wisdom and sacrificial love and was willing to give up the goodly child rather than risk her child being killed. She watched over baby Moses to ensure he was safe and that he ended up in the arms of royalty. Rachel wept for the captive, exiled, and enslaved children of Israel.  The Bible says Rachel refused to be comforted (Jeremiah 31:15 KJV). Sarah, the beautiful mother of nations or mother of us all, was heralded by the Apostle Paul as being one of the cloud of faithful witnesses (Hebrews 11;11,12). Naomi, a type of the Holy Spirit, came alongside Ruth to nurture her and guide her in the way of provision and her divine destiny. Samuel’s mother, Hannah, prayed for him and dedicated her son to be used by God. The faith and obedience of the mothers of our Lord, Jesus, and that great prophet, John the Baptist, profoundly and miraculously provided a new and better way and an opportunity for eternal life with God for all men.

Church Mothers were identified by Jesus as part of our spiritual family; and are those who do the will of His Father in heaven (Matthew 12:50). The Father’s will is that His children be nurtured and protected with prayer, nourished in the Word, and loved.

We believe the Lord gives the Church Mother a special gift of motherly insight, vision, and godly wisdom from the Word, the Holy Spirit, personal experience, and example to serve the Body of Christ.

Church Mother is more than a function in the church family, but a posture of the heart reflecting our Heavenly Father’s love and care for His children. The Church Mother ministry serves the spiritual and practical needs of the Body of Christ. Church Mother is a life application teaching and mentoring ministry for the children of God.
